Elaine Prunty is a contemporary Irish Glass Artist, Mosaicist and Sculptor with over 20 years working experience.
Elaine uses the traditional skills of Mosaic and Stained Glass artisans in a dramatic and contemporary way through her unique designs and her innovative use of modern, vibrant glass materials.
Her Artwork is extremely colourful, playful, sensory and tactile.
The Artglass Elaine uses in her work has myriad colours, textures and lustres that bring a vibrant reflectivity and movement to the Artwork. She can also incorporate ‘Decals’ in her work , this is a technical process whereby original artwork and photographic images and text can be fired onto glass to make them permanent and durable and of a size, shape and thickness that is compatible and inclusive with her mosaic work.
Elaine is particularly drawn to commissions that are site-specific and require community engagement and collaboration. Her most recent commissions have been child-centred and have been created in close collaboration with the pupils and community of numerous schools throughout Ireland .
